Our customer is a global IT service provider, one of the most recognized companies in the IT community.

Project Overview

The project's goal is the development of functional extensions for InSite Manufacturing Execution System for a FAB production line. IBA activities included:

  • Development of additional components and stored procedures
  • Development of object class library (transaction classes)
  • Development of interface modules to integrate Insite with production equipment
  • Development of client applications.

The development assumes the following work:

  • Design, development and unit test code for C++ implementation of several modules according to the project plan
  • Visual Basic development
  • Analysis and fixing of C++ and Visual basic code problems
  • Analysis of business requirements and development of business functional specifications according to the project plan

Project Execution

  • The project was launched in November 1998 and completed in May 2001
  • The IBA team was comprised of 13 developers
  • The project was executed in several phases, starting with a pilot task
  • All SW project development cycle stages were in place
  • The evolution project model was applied
  • Both “off–shore development” and “on–site representatives” models were used to achieve the needed quality and cost savings and ensure effective communication.

Project Results

  • The system was successfully launched at the customer site
  • The project was delivered in–time, in–budget and in–quality
  • The customer intends to implement the system on other production sites as a standard production system.
